Lex Roscia : ウィキペディア英語版
Lex Roscia
The Lex Roscia, promulgated in 49 BC by Lucius Roscius Fabatus on behalf of Julius Caesar, granted the ''Plenum ius'' to the populations of the province of Cisalpine Gaul.
In 89 BC these had already received with the ''Lex Pompeia de Transpadanis'' the Latin citizenship, while the law of 49 BC granted them full Roman citizenship.
With this law Julius Caesar sought to secure the support of the population of the ''Transpadana'', who aspired since long time to the ''Plenum Ius'', just at the outbreak of the Civil War against Pompey. One of Caesar's most loyal legions was also the ''Legio X Equestris'', largely recruited among the Cisalpine populations.
Another consequence of the ''Lex Roscia'' was the transformation of the towns of the province from Latin colonies into Roman ''municipia''. This gave a significant impetus to the urbanization of this region.
